CITY & GUILDS 7763-02 LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE FOR DOG GROOMING ASSISTANTS

Course Summary

At the beginning of your course, you will be presented with your course guide material, manual, handbook and homework journal. You will be given an induction day which will introduce you to the salon environment and mandatory aspects of health and safety and risk assessment. Throughout the course, you will be undertaking practical grooming and styling training, working through the Heavenlyz course guide and preparing to undertake a number of practical assessments while studying the theory described in the qualification handbook. When you have completed the training course and are ready, you’ll be prepared for a practical assessment to demonstrate what you have learned and also be invited to undertake a computer-based online exam to demonstrate you have studied your theory material. Once your practical assessment and theory exam have been approved by City & Guilds all you have to do is sit back, relax and wait for your City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants to arrive. This is proof of your level of competence and achievement which you worked so hard for. You will also be presented with a Certificate of Achievement from FCL. Course Summary

This intensive course is designed for students who have completed the City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate and are strongly committed and focused towards achieving a professional Level 3 Diploma qualification with a view to working in the industry delivering the highest level of customer service and commercial grooming skills or starting a business.

At the beginning of your course, you will be presented with your course guide material, manual, handbook and homework journal. You will be given an induction day which will introduce you to the salon environment and mandatory aspects of health and safety and risk assessment. Throughout the course, you will be undertaking practical training, working through the Heavenlyz course guide and preparing to undertake a number of practical assessments while studying the theory described in the qualification handbook. At the end of yo ur course, you will be prepared for a practical assessment to demonstrate what you have learned and also be invited to undertake a 2-hour computer-based online exam to demonstrate you have studied your theory material. Once your practical assessment and theory exam have been approved by City & Guilds all you have to do is sit back, relax and wait for your City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants to arrive while you continue onto the Level 3 Introductory Diploma.

Course Summary

This course is designed for newcomers to grooming with little or no previous experience. This is an Ofsted Nationally Recognised Qualification and is also recognised by the Groomer’s Spotlight, where, once qualified you can become a member of them and create your profile. After payment to Heavenlyz, you will recieve the course guide material, manual, handbook and homework journal. You will be given an induction day which will introduce you to the salon environment and mandatory aspects of health and safety and risk assessment. Throughout the course, you will be undertaking practical training, working through the Heavenlyz course guide and preparing to undertake a number of practical assessments. You will be required to provide photographic evidence of your practical work for assessemnt which should show clear images with you standing behind your dog. We will guide you in this process. To achieve this qualification (during your assessments) you need to be able to;

  1. Bathe and groom from start to finish 8 different breeds to include 15 different styles (different coat types to demonstrate a variety of head, tail, feet and body styles).
  2. Complete two full grooms on a practical assessment day.
  3. Complete written questions in own time
  4. Have an opportunity to attend a Heavenlyz Certificated Pet First Aid course.

Course Summary

This fast track course is designed for experienced groomers who have previously completed City & Guilds Level 2 Dog Grooming Assistant 7763-02 or City & Guilds Level 3 Introductory 7763-03 with FCL Training. Students who hold qualifications outside FCL Training can be assessed for suitability for this course. Please call us and we will be very happy to discuss your individual circumstances. During your course, you will be using high-quality commercial grade scissors and equipment. (Please advise us before starting your course if you are left-handed.) Our aim is to provide you with the skills, knowledge, and inspiration to start making money in the real world of professional grooming immediately ensuring an exponential return on your investment in training.

Who are FCL grooming courses suitable for?

FCL Dog Grooming Training Courses are for individuals 16 years to mature adults who are seeking a career in professional dog grooming. You will be taking the course because you have a passion and a genuine interest in working in the dog grooming industry at the highest level. You will be ready to commit yourself to complete home studies and course assignments within the duration of the course and have sufficient spare time to absorb and study the theory work, especially if you have been out of the education system for some time or have other work & personal commitments, however the new OCN Diploma focuses more on practical work than theory. You will be prepared for some challenges both physically and mentally and be an excellent listener who is absolutely open to feedback. You will need to be comfortable standing and working on your feet all day and have unimpaired senses to react to changing situations quickly and safely. You will be the kind of person who follows instruction well in order to work safely, with the dogs in our care, fellow students, equipment and FCL personnel. If you have any physical, phycological or emotional day to day needs that may impact on health and safety they should be declared before starting or signing up to a grooming course to ensure that we can assess any potential overall risks.
