FCL Dog Grooming Training Courses are for individuals 16 years to mature adults who are seeking a career in professional dog grooming.
You will be taking the course because you have a passion and a genuine interest in working in the dog grooming industry at the highest level. You will be ready to commit yourself to complete home studies and course assignments within the duration of the course and have sufficient spare time to absorb and study the theory work, especially if you have been out of the education system for some time or have other work & personal commitments, however the new Open College Network West Midlands Diploma focuses more on practical work than theory.
You will be prepared for some challenges both physically and mentally and be an excellent listener who is absolutely open to feedback. You will need to be comfortable standing and working on your feet all day and have unimpaired senses to react to changing situations quickly and safely. You will be the kind of person who follows instruction well in order to work safely, with the dogs in our care, fellow students, equipment and FCL personnel.
If you have any physical, phycological or emotional day to day needs that may impact on health and safety they should be declared before starting or signing up to a grooming course to ensure that we can assess any potential risks.
If you are ready to rise to the challenges, dog grooming is a rewarding career and a growing industry with more and more dog owners taking advantage of the services offered by grooming salons. There is a choice of course to gain experience and qualifications for all abilities. If you have any questions, we are waiting to hear from you!
