Course Details

This is an Ofsted Nationally Recognised Qualification.

Following payment and registration with Heavenlyz, you will receive the course guide material, manual, handbook and homework journal. You will be given an induction day introducing you to the salon environment, mandatory health and safety aspects, and risk assessment. Throughout the course, you will be undertaking practical training, working through the Heavenlyz course guide, and preparing to take some practical assessments. You will be required to provide photographic evidence of your practical work for assessment, which should show clear images of you standing behind your dog. We will be sure to guide you in this process.

To achieve this qualification, you will cover four units;

Carry out Maintenance and Coat Preparation on Dogs

Promote and Monitor Health and Safety within the Grooming Environment

Promote, Monitor and Maintain the Health and Wellbeing of Dogs

Understanding Legislation in the Dog Grooming Industry

Written questions and practical activities complete the theory work.

You will be required to provide practical evidence for your learner’s journal and will include:

Evidence of bathing and drying four dogs in the Learner’s journal and one dog observed by the Assessor to cover the five coat types.

Nail Trimming and ear cleaning

• Four health checks required of varying sizes and ages.

Identification of 25 anatomical points in the Learner’s journal and four identified in practical assessment.

Practical Assessment consists of:

Completion of a risk assessment of the bathing, drying and

preparation area.

Completion of a style plan and comprehensive health check.

Practical assessment consists of bathing and drying one wool/wool

mix dog, trimming nails and cleaning ears.

Identify four anatomical points from the list of 25

No attendance is required for pet first aid, but this will be available at an offer price should you wish to achieve a certificate.

The guided learning hours accrued on the AIM Level 3 Award may be carried over to the AIM Level 3 Diploma if registered within one year from completion.
