FCL In-House Grooming Course

Our one-day taster course is a prerequisite prior to enrollment on any of our training or qualification courses to assess your ability before proceeding to formal training.




This course is tailored to the individual seeking to complete an introductory dog grooming course without the need for formal qualifications or assessments. You will be given an introduction day which will introduce you to the salon environment and mandatory aspects of health, safety and risk assessment. No previous grooming experience is necessary.

Course Summary

Health, Safety and Risk Assessment Bathing and Drying Techniques and Coat Preparation Scissor and Clipping Work Styling and Finishing Various Coat Types to Pet Standard. You will be awarded an FCL Framed Certification of Achievement upon Successful Completion of the Course.

This course will allow you to discuss and assess your individual needs for the future and to determine if dog grooming will meet your expectation. Following successful completion of the FCL In-Houe Course, you may be suitable to pursue the Level 2 City & Guilds or Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Certificate. We recommend that you gain some experience before proceeding to formal qualifications and examinations. The guided learning hours accrued on this course can be carried over to the City & Guilds Level 2 or the Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Certificate.

For City & Guilds Level 2 the extra cost would be £1030 for the 12-day course.

For the Open College Network West Midlands Level 3 Certificate, the extra cost would be £875 for the 8-day course.

Plus £650 payable to Heavenlyz Ltd for registration, assessment and certification.
